Your wedding day is one of the most photographed and emotionally significant days of your life—and your hair plays a big part in how you’ll look and feel.

As a bridal hairstylist with years of experience helping brides look and feel their best, I know how important it is to make the most of your hair trial. This is your time to fine-tune the look, ask questions, and get excited about your big day.

Here are my top tips to help you show up feeling prepared, relaxed, and confident for your bridal hair trial.

1. Book Your Trial 1–3 Months Before the Wedding
This gives us time to finalize your style without being too far from the wedding date. You’ll also have a better idea of your dress, accessories, and wedding vibe—all of which impact the hair!

2. Come With Clean, Dry Hair (Unless Otherwise Instructed)
It’s a myth that “dirty hair is better” for styling. I usually recommend clean, dry hair without too much product buildup. I’ll give you prep instructions beforehand so we can start off right.

3. Wear White or a Similar Neckline to Your Dress
This small step helps you see the full look come together. If you’re wearing an off-the-shoulder gown or a high neck, mirror that for the trial to get the full picture.

4. Bring Inspo Photos—But Be Open to Ideas
Pinterest is a great starting point, but I’ll also look at your hair texture, length, and wedding vision to create a style that works specifically for you. I want you to feel like the best version of yourself—not a copy of someone else.

5. Bring Any Accessories You’re Considering
Veils, hairpieces, pins, and extensions—we’ll want to test how everything fits together. Even if you haven’t made a final decision, bring options to try out during the trial.

6. Don’t Forget About the Weather & Location
Getting married in the mountains? Outdoors in summer heat? I’ll suggest styles that not only look amazing, but hold upthrough the day based on your setting.

7. Trust the Process (And Your Stylist 😉)
Your bridal trial is all about collaboration. I’m here to answer questions, test styles, and help you feel excited and confident walking into your wedding morning.
